Inquiry, Service Learning and Educator Certifications
I recently completed two courses offered by National Geographic. I found out about these courses through a post on Twitter. I found both of these courses to easily manage on top of an educator's schedule. Each week, participants received 7 days to complete work that consisted of watching videos, writing and responding to discussion questions, and completing assignments.
These courses are offered multiple times a year. Participants have the opportunity to pay for continuing education credits at a university.
Service Learning
Participants learn through the course activities and networking with other participants how to foster empathy in their students. Participants also learn how to tie service learning into the curriculum.
The Geo-Inquiry Process
This course focused connecting students to the world around them through geography and inquiry. In addition to skills and learning strategies, participants also gain access to incredible resources that can be utilized in any curricular area.
Educator Certification
This program connects educators through discussions and assignment feedback to help instruct students about the interactions between the human and natural world and the place of learners in it. Participants develop skills, leadership, and achieve valuable networking.

You are welcome. I did not know either.
Thanks for the links to those free courses. I had no idea they offered PD!
