I attended the following sessions: Tools for Reflection, I Won't Get Pwned Again: Passwords, The INTROVERTS Guide to Public Speaking, and Online and Digital Reading Tools.
I chose tools for reflection as I am very interested in utilizing visual note taking in my classes. I definitely see the value of students being able to demonstrate their thoughts through images, but struggle to teach it myself.
I attended the session on passwords, because I recognized that many of my passwords are weak. The session on public speaking was for my students rather than for me. Many of my students especially my English Language Learners are extremely nervous to speak in front of their peers. I wanted to hear how others overcome these fears and how to help my students. We have an amazing librarian, and I am not always aware of what resources are available to me. This was a very informative session.
I hope that we continue to do more of these internal PD sessions. We have extremely knowledgeable and innovative educators. I am looking forward to implementing what I learned.
